Halo for Windows

A system-tray companion that turns your voice into text without leaving whatever you're working in. Optimised for Windows on ARM, on Qualcomm Snapdragon.

Best on Snapdragon

Halo is optimised for Windows on ARM with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, where it runs on the NPU. It also runs on Intel and AMD (x86/x64) PCs, but without that optimisation.

Lives in the system tray

Halo sits quietly in the tray, ready with a global hotkey, and never steals focus from what you're doing.

Works in any app

Editors, chat apps, browsers, terminals — dictate straight into the field you're already focused on.

One hotkey, everywhere

A single shortcut starts and stops dictation, no matter which window has focus.

Built for your keyboard-first workflow

Halo is designed to feel like a natural extension of typing, not a separate app you have to switch to.

On-device acceleration

Accelerated by the Snapdragon X2 Elite NPU

Halo for Windows is built first for Windows on ARM. On machines built on the Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite, Halo runs its speech model on the chip's dedicated neural processing unit instead of the CPU. Transcription happens on the device, on silicon designed for exactly this kind of work — so dictation stays responsive while the rest of your machine gets on with what it was doing.

Runs on the NPU

Speech recognition is handed to the Snapdragon X2 Elite's neural engine rather than competing for CPU time.

Stays on your device

Accelerated transcription runs locally on the chip, so your audio does not need to leave the machine to be understood.

Easy on the battery

Dedicated NPU silicon is built for sustained inference, which is gentler on a laptop than driving the CPU hard.

NPU acceleration is specific to Windows on ARM with Qualcomm Snapdragon silicon. Halo still runs on Intel and AMD (x86/x64) PCs, where it falls back to the CPU and is not optimised.
